SSTI- School of Non-Profits: Non-Profit Board Governance Programme (Mandarin)

SSTI will be launching Singapore's first ever Non-Profit Board Governance Series of Training Workshops in Mandarin, specially developed for non-profit organisations such as charities and Institutions of Public Character (IPCs).

With the expansion in the scope of the VWO-Charities Capability Fund, about 1900 charities and IPCs are now eligible for this funding. SSTI has come in to bridge the training gap for about 300 Buddhist and Taoist religious organisations and related community/welfare agencies with Mandarin-speaking board members to equip them with the relevant knowledge, skills and tools required to discharge their governance responsibilities effectively.

The trainer of these workshops, Mr Tan Cheng Hwa, was formerly the Director of Skill Training Programmes and the Head of Training Promotion Centre ( TPC ) of Singapore Chinese Chamber Institute of Business (SCCIOB). He has more than 34 years experience in the field of training.

The first two workshops focus on the core board principles and practices outlined below:
