Entry Requirements

 
This programme provides an option for those who have completed the Diploma in Special Education through the National Institute of Education and desire to upgrade their qualifications to a degree level.

Applicants should meet one of the following entry requirements:

  • An approved Bachelor Degree
  • An approved Polytechnic Diploma (minimum 3 years)
  • A levels + NIE's Diploma in Special Education (DISE) + minimum of one year experience

All applications are assessed on an individual basis. Applicants are encouraged to include referee statements and employment history.

[Note: For candidate who does not possess the NIE's DISE, the attainment of this degree does not guarantee the candidate to be registered as a Ministry of Education (MOE) Special Education School Teacher. However, candidate can apply directly to MOE of which approval will be on a case-by-case basis.]

Please note that this course is a non-pre-approved course for VCF. If your organisation* will like to apply VCF Local Training Grant,
  • Online application is to be submitted at the VWO Corner login (https://www.ncssapp.org.sg)
  • The application must be submitted to VCF Secretariat at least one month before course commencement,
    ie. 16 March 2012 or earlier
  • Applications will be tabled for the Panel’s decision (refer to approximate Submission Deadlines for Panel meetings at http://www.ncss.org.sg/VWOcorner/vcf_panel.asp)
  • Funding for approved applications will be on a reimbursement basis.
  • Full course fee is to be made to Flinders University for this programme
* Applicable for permanent staff (Singaporean/PRs only) of NCSS member Voluntary Welfare Organisations (VWOs)
and MCYS-funded VWOs

* Total fees exclude costs of textbooks. About 5 textbooks will be required for the whole course of study. Additional travelling and accommodation expenses for practicum in Adelaide are not included in the course fee and will be borne by students who opt for the placement arrangement.
