• Apply skills in planning, organising and evaluating programmes
  
  
• Establish strategies to work with different clientele groups (volunteers, children, youth, families, elderly and people with disabilities)

• Identify the sociological perspective in contemporary living and understand its relevance to social services
  
  
• Discuss basic perspectives and specialty areas in psychology
  
  
• Acquire basic IT skills and understand its application in social service sector
  
  
• Apply intercultural sensitivity skills
  
  
• Identify the vulnerability of various groups in Singapore and the legislation which are applicable for their protection
